Cube Gallery, the space as it's own exhibition...

Had a wonder over to Cube gallery today to visit "The Perfect Gallery" by Christian Jankowski. It was interesting to walk around an "empty" gallery, but I can see why it's appealing, the space is fantastic, like a combination of my dream apartment & dream studio space in one.

“When I was asked to make an exhibition for the space, I had in mind the fact that gallery architecture is often talked about more than the art inside it.”
- Christian Jankowski.

I kind of felt the same way, I hadn't done before,in fact I've seen some pretty good exhibitions over at Cube, and this was no exception.

Heroes, Monsters & Detox Retox

Had a wonder over to Manchester Art Gallery, they've got a cool set of interactive podiums to help children, and designers, learn the history and stories behind the subjects in various paintings and artifacts. Also a quick mention for Detox Retox, brilliant jacket potatoes, very reasonable pricing, comfy surroundings, and cup-cakes, winner..

Manchester at the weekend

I took a little walk around Manchester at the weekend, I saw a few things that made me smile and one thing that made me a bit sad, lets then start with the later.

Noise Gallery on Market Street is closed... I’ve taken a few commemorative snaps and there are more from the good old days earlier in my blog, there’s also a petition to sign at www.noiselab.co.uk. Also this weekend it was the Great Manchester Picnic and although I was greeted by a sign that pretty much read “The Great Manchester Picnic, Danger Keep Out!” it was actually a rather pleasant little set-up over at Piccadilly Gardens, a note worthy stall was Hey Little Cupcake (www.iheartideas.com).

I then stumbled across a rather cool little festival taking place over at Urbis, with free vegetarian curry on offer! Fun times all round.
